We’re thrilled for your engagement session! Your engagement session is a precious opportunity to hit pause, take a deep breath, and savor this incredible season of togetherness. With your engagement session, our goal is to help you slow down, capturing the essence of this short, sweet season of life for you to cherish for years to come.
Outfits
When choosing colors for your outfits, we recommend opting for neutral tones and softer shades. These colors complement any skin tone and eye color beautifully.
The best colors include shades of white, beige, and light brown. Additionally, colors like sandy, milky, gray, olive, all muted shades of green, gray, and black work well. It’s better to go for solid-colored clothing without large logos or patterns.
If you’re having trouble deciding, you can find inspiration online, for example on Pinterest. There, you can find many examples of stylishly dressed couples.
Also, don’t hesitate to ask your photographer for help; we’re always here to assist with your selection!
Best time
We photograph engagement sessions the way we like to be photographed ourselves. Outdoors, in natural light, because we love images that are clean, bright, fresh and timeless. Images that look and feel like you. That’s why we begin all of our sessions 1-2 hours before the scheduled sunset –– during the magical “golden hour” –– when the light in the sky is the softest, dreamiest and most flattering. Our weekends fill up fast and far in advance, but our weekdays are much more flexible. So if you’d like to do your session sooner rather than later, scheduling mid-week is the way to go!
Location
As natural light photographers, we love outdoor, wide-open natural spaces because they are the most flattering.
We are based in Orange County and offer engagement sessions at no additional cost within this area. If you’d like to shoot at a location outside of Orange County, a travel fee may apply depending on the distance. Feel free to reach out, and we’d be happy to discuss the details!

Planning your time
To avoid unnecessary stress, give yourself more time than you think you’ll need to get ready. Make sure to take account of things like traffic, parking, and time for hair and make-up. Arrive a few minutes early so we can take advantage of every minute we have together before the sunsets.
The most important thing is to be yourselves! Don’t worry if you’re not experienced in posing — we’ll help and guide you every step of the way. All you need to bring is a positive attitude and love in your eyes for your significant other!
